Takumi

So I am down with two papers already :D

And I'm already in the mood to relax and unwind, not in the mood to study anymore etc. NOOOO. My next paper is on Monday fyi.

But I guess one night after two papers which were sorta back-to-back is alright eh? So I had dinner in the city at Takumi on Bourke St. last night. Its some jap restaurant and I've actually heard lots about it. Was quite fine dining actually; I thought it'd be some other japanese restaurant like Sushi Groove or something but it was more like mmm.. what can I compare it with in Malaysia.. Ninja Jones?

Anyways I had Plum wine! One of my favourites. And wagyu beef is still the bomb.. I was asked to be asian hence the following picture

Whoah I look so tired -_-
and Iphones don't take good pictures in dim lighting tsk tsk.

And had black sesame and green tea ice cream too, haven't had that stuff in ages. Yum yum.

Anyways, Monday's paper.. ugh.. okay gotta work on that now. Have a good week ahead people and I will see you all pretty much soon, it's gonna be November tomorrow already.

Whoa. November already. That means its gonna be the second last month of the year. Now that was pretty fast for a year to go by?

Brain Food

So my final examinations start tomorrow. 9.30am.

And me being the weird person I am looked up google on what's good to eat for brain power before sitting for a 3hour paper.

I keyed in "exam food" lol and read a couple of sites, most of them encouraging students who are going to sit for an exam to have porridge, whole grain cereals with milk (dairy, soy or rice milk), wholegrain toast, yoghurt, fresh fruit juice and milk as they contain fast acting carbohydrates, which slowly releases carbs and energy helping to maintain concentration and alertness throughout the morning.

I also read from a forum where people said bananas are good for sustaining energy.

Another one was to bring in a bottle of isotonic drink as its isotonic fluid is what keeps the brain active or something like that.

"Isotonic drinks contain glucose and this is the primary fuel of the brain. A steady supply of glucose has been associated with improved concentration and focus. Because these drinks are absorbed quickly then blood glucose levels are kept topped up. Ensure that you keep your water intake up too!" (http://www.csu.edu.au/division/studserv/exam/day/food.htm).

So yeah I'm gonna try the isotonic drink thing. Luckily I have a bottle of Gatorade in the fridge lol. It does make sense, drinking an isotonic drink keeps you fresh and alert, right?

On the other hand, caffeine and high sugar foods should be avoided as it gives you a rush of energy for a short period of time, then leaving you rather dull and sluggish after. Nope, not suitable for a three hour paper.

Oh yes, and I've planned my breakfast for tomorrow morning already. lol. Eggs are in as well. I hope I don't end up eating so much that I have to go pass motion during the paper -____-

Okay what am I still doing online. All the best to the rest of you having finals ! Do your best, don't regret and rest well. I reckon your head needs it.

OH SWEET !

OH SWEEEEEEEEET !!

I just got an email from the Recruitment HR Dept. of Ernst & Young regarding my application for an internship this summer and received some form meaning my resume actually got me through !

I thought I wouldn't manage to qualify for the program as I sent in my applications way too late in the year but Praise God I actually got through.

Now the next choice, KL or Ipoh?

Goldilocks and Porridge

I am writing this post as I am waiting for my porridge to cook up so that it won't be as diluted as it is now.

Yes, I have been cooking porridge for the past few days. Need to treat my body well and feed it some easy to digest and nutritious food. I chopped 4 sticks of carrots for today's serving fyi.

OH. and HAHAHA I overestimated wayyyy too much rice and the amount of porridge that I cooked can feed a family. Yes I am fabulous that way. LOL Nah at least I don't have to cook for the next few meals.

****

I am running outta time to manage for finals. Been some time since I've felt this sense of rush running in my veins.

Perhaps its because I got back my second last assignment today and so far, all my mid sem tests/assignments/internal marks were graded distinction. Quite suprising for the amount of effort I put in but I'm not complaining. I don't want the grade to drop just because of my internal marks!!!!

Okay gonna check on that porridge. I hope the rest of you who are in the exam period manage to focus too. I am turning off my notebook for the first time in a very long time tonight.

Some inspiration to study?

Room back in Sunway Malaysia 2007 lol. Okay that's not really an inspiration more like random. Sue me.

Oh. And can't wait for the weekend.

14/10/2009 midnight suprise

My housemates were sweet enough to suprise me with a cake (2nd Brunettis cake :D) with the lights turned off and candles lit up at midnight on my birthday, outside my room. I think that was prolly the highlight of my actual birthday since I ditched dinner in the city due to exhaustion -.-.

Exhaustion from what you ask? From lacking sleep and rest ! I am falling sick if you read from previous posts but am currently recovering pretty well after drowning myself in Vitamin C. But I am still lacking sleeping hours due to stupid distractions.

Anyways, I had an accounting test on my birthday itself so yeah, had to pull up an all nighter for that and nerd it out in the library till 3pm. I was more or less out after coming home from uni and well flat on the bed. Woke up for a simple but healthy and satisfying dinner at Seng Heng with my brother from another mother, had homemade green tea and hit the bed again when I arrived home.

Suffering for Saturday night's fun you see lol. Oh, I had to skull several glasses of mild shots after cake that night too, explaining why I was so tired the next day and had a mild headache -_-

My dearest bunch of housemates. (Yes I have two guy housemates if you were wondering if I lived in an all-girls accomodation or something)

Dont know why it was so hard for me to blow out candles for the two cakes I had. Perhaps I'm not used to blowing out candles anymore.. been two years since I had a birthday cake with candles lit up and that's one of the moments I truly love in anybody's birthdays; a birthday cake with candles LIGHTED up lol. So thanks again to the sweetest housemates and Chong Ho too.

They read my FB status ! haha!

And guess who called up to wish meeeeh all the way from Malaysia

Asian Edward Cullen !! HAHAHAHA

LOL.

And its back to reality. Home on a Fridaynight to catch up on sleep and balance up tomorrow's night out. Or maybe I should skip tomorrow night's party and just head for dinner? I wonder if my body can take it.. hmm

(THOUGHTS IN HEAD: wrong time to test it you dope).

Two decades

So I've been living on this soil and ground for 20 years now.

I wanted to spend a quiet night after having a good dinner, reflecting my life over these two decades but got carried away by some ice-cream and alert sounds coming from my notebook.

But. Anyways.

Two decades. Whoa. I can't remember much of the first decade of my life except for maybe running around and not having as much to worry about as I have today?

As for my second decade living in this world which seems to be becoming more of a material-based culture and virtues stand at a rather low ground i.e. money = power, beauty = plastic and flesh, high/happening status = a glamourous lifestyle and what more. I wonder if I can manage to go through this world without being consumed by it.

I've heard this line many times from church service and my mom:

"You can be in the system, but you don't have to be of the system."

I wish it was that easy but then again...

Okay mind-block. It's time for me to hit the sheets anyway. I am falling sick.

OH, and one more thing,

THANK YOU ALL FOR THE WISHES ! SIMPLY MADE MY DAY MEAN A BIRTHDAY.

The hundreds of posts on facebook (I'm quite proud of this hahah), the calls and messages from Malaysia, - although you guys could've just sent me a message over msn/facebook; I truly appreciate it. You know who you are.

AND of course, the birthday cards I received in the mailbox! SO unexpected. Can't wait for our meet ups in December !

Love and heart-shaped symbols all the way from Melbourne <3.

20th celebration

So I celebrated my 20th birthday 4days in advance with some friends. Wish my close friends back in Malaysia and other parts of the world could've been around though.

Korean bbq it was for dinner, at WooGa ! restaurant followed by Bass Lounge.

Dinner was at nine cos I could only get reservations for 10 at 9pm. The funny thing was people were still late although dinner was so late if you get what I mean. Guess its in our nature to be late no matter what the time set (?) -terrible culture and my group of friends were ABCs + Malaysians. I was nearly late myself -___- If it wasn't for the turbo in James' Skyline I think I would've definitely been late cos he came to pick me up at 8.20pm and we had to pick up Chong Ho in the city and there was the "city jam" and all that but made it 5min earlier woohoo

Dinner was quite chaotic and havoc as all the dishes came out all at one time and we had to cook the beef ribs as well. This caused some pieces of meat to be burnt lol.

Bass Lounge for the first time was quite interesting. A definitely smaller area in terms of squarefeet compared to Seven or CQ but the crowd wasn't too bad. Music was pretty good too. And funny thing was this guy who thought I was "cute" (yuck!?!) sent his friend to me to pass the message of what he thought -__- I didn't know guys were still so shy these days but its the shy guys who are rather interesting, well, in most cases. haha.

And, the messenger ended up having a Q&A session with me lol.

Messenger: Uhm hi! My friend over there thinks you're cute!
Me: Uhh... whaatt..
Messenger: Yeah that guy over there ! *huge grin for what reason i have no idea*
Me: Uhh.. okay.. thanks ..? -__-
Messenger: -So where are you from?
-What are you studying
-Where are you studying
-Where do you normally head out to party?

-___________-

Anyways, had so many rounds of drinks but nope wasn't wrecked. Must be the amount of food I had just before heading to Bass Lounge which absorbed all the alki. Sweated like a PIG on the dancefloor until even Manda asked why I sweat so much -_- Later met Perryn whose bf later drove us home after hanging out, supper and all.

Overall, I had a great time/"celebration". Special thanks to Chong Ho who got me an awesome Brunneti cake (the yummiest one I've had so far all because the waiter from the Korean restaurant put the cake into the freezer, turning the cream between the cake layers into ice-cream. ICE-cream, get it? lol) and James who drove us around and the rest who took time and effort to attend my little dinner. Means a lot to me.

Now for the pixelated form of description of my 20th celebration.

Grace was the wonderful cook for the evening! She totally helped maintain the condition of the meat on the bbq stove.

And the Korean restaurant gave me this huge knife to cut the cake hahah

(more pics to be uploaded. too lazy atm)

Aiiii didn't take enough pictures with Lisha and James -___-

Anyways its back into uni mode I guess. And I amazingly made it for service although I arrived home at 6.30am and didn't feel sleepy. Hmm.. Glad I made it. Lynn was so sweet to get me a cupcake from the cupcake bakery at Melbourne Central which ain't cheap. AUD3.50 for one. That's like more than RM10 for one cupcake. You can get at least two for RM10 back in Malaysia.

K I'm off to clean up my room.

Free Condoms
Free Tampons
Free Sexual Info

Interesting much?

Final assignment for the semester.. how gay it is to be stuck.

Weekend's nearly here ! But finals are pretty close too and I more or less have no idea what's going on in the second half of the semester. die die die.

MSB, over in a flash

MSB = Mid semester break.

It's already Sunday. Time is flying by way too fast.

My holidays went by in a snap. I was only home for two days out of the week.

Philip Island was cold. The sun and beautiful weather only showed up on the day we left back for Melbourne. Still managed to enjoy some warm sunshine rays with random cool breezes on and off.

Chocolate has become part of my daily diet.

Had tea with Jo and Jess today at a cafe that used to be part of some best cafe list in Melbourne. Service was bad but the chocolate cake was yum.

I did not touch any uni work for the past week.

I overspent in September.

I enjoyed my holidays but it was obviously not long enough.

I am enjoying Melbourne but at the same time am missing KL/Subang.

I am homesick and missing family and friends back home after receiving something in the mailbox.
