25 hours

Its funny how I stay up later when I don't have exams. Guess its because I don't have to worry about having a fresh mind the next day.

My flight back to my home country is tomorrow and I haven't done a single thing to do with packing. Not to mention how I haven't even put away the stuff I bought today and two days ago -____-

Can't wait to see my family, some closer friends, indulge in authentic Asian food and breathe Malaysian air. Yeah, rather weird but I guess you know where home really is when you start missing a certain something.

Right. I suddenly have the mood to clean up the mess in my room and start packing !

Random picture taken an hour ago and I happened to empty my cam pic's into the notebook so yeah, this is what my room currently looks like.

Sigh. So lazy. Just lost the mood to clean up hahah.

Oh, and I had wonderful korean bbq with dearest Grace in the city for dinner just now. I found out that I am truly a beef lover.

See you soon Malaysians !

Oh one more thing, do pray that I don't get infected with swine flu on the way back. Plus I spent 16bucks to buy 2 lame masks. 16bucks !! That's like 12 + 3 = 15 Krispy Kreme donuts ! Or even a top. hahah.

H1N1

Just want to upload this picture I took after my third paper last week in the exam hall.

Cheee-nah girl wearing a mask as a means of swine flu protection? Cheee-nah dot com.

My parents were nagging me about taking care of my health and they kind of grounded me as they told me its not advisable to go out and stuff since I'm heading back to Malaysia this weekend but what, stay in a dead suburb during my last few days in Melbourne ? No wayyyy hahah. But I am going to have to buy some masks to wear in the airport and in the plane -__-

Anyways, was in the city last weekend, yet again. Had a warm dinner with fellow Mufians, class of 2008 and outcast A-Level student, Grace haha, at Papa Gino's; quite a famous Italian restaurant on Lygon Street. Later on had Freddo's gelato which was sooo self-indulgent as Brandon and I had 3 huge scoops each. I love how they are so generous with the scooping of the ice-cream, no wait, its gelato (what's the difference again?)

****

Last paper is on Friday. Don't have the mood at all to work for that..... All I'm thinking about is going home.....

And I've been watching Korean drama My Lovely Kim Sam Soon all over again for the 4th time(?) on Youtube a lot now. Like in one day I'm nearly done with the series. I heart the show.. they have the sweetest moments and cutest couple. Not to mention hot actors <3.

Long day out tomorrow. Time for bed.

T #2 for Tom Yam

In one of my older entries I wanted to post a picture of my homemade tom yam. Well here it is.

It really kinda reminds me of the one you can get at Secret Recipe, only I'm missing out on the cauliflowers and the soup looks grossly oily in the picture because I boiled the soup with one chicken drumstick in it; was too lazy to debone it and I didn't have chicken fillets at that time.

Anyways, I've been chilling at home alot. I like spending time on my own sometimes, like its for me to fully indulge in myself. Lol that doesn't sound too right but you know what I mean.

Since my 3rd paper, I've been getting some fine sleep and managed to clean up my room. But my closet is still a mess.

But one gay thing that I've been doing is sleeping after 3am like KL days again and waking up after 10.30am. Its really odd for me to sleep at such hours here in Melbourne already. I guess its because now that I'm nearly done with my exams, I just like the carefree mode I am able to indulge in by surfing the net into the late night like nobody's business. lol. That isn't really a good thing -__-.

And I no longer have that crave for morning breakfasts. Maybe its all that hype in me waiting to fly back to Malaysia !!

Yes, I will be flying back tomorrow if it were next week. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!

See you soon my darlings and have a great weekend.

They call steamboat hotpot here.

Last weekend, we had a little all-girls steamboat to start off winter season at Sarah's crib. I've been going there quite often now hmm.

Anyways back to steamboat, or hotpot; that's what the Australians call it here. We ate soo much and it was pretty funny how we just kept on gobbling down the food although we had already reached the limit for a satisfied stomach. I think it's just human nature to eat whatever that looks good in front of you. This would mean gluttony is a natural thing in human beings.

(Sorry for this GAY line of interruption but I CAN FREAKING HEAR MY INDONESIAN HOUSEMATE TALKING IN HER ANNOYING INDONESIAN LINGO WHICH IS REALLY GETTING ON MY NERVES AS SHE JUST HAS TO SHOUT OUT LOUD WHATEVER SHE IS TALKING ABOUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH HER IT'S NEARLY 1AM AND SHE'S TALKING LIKE THE LOUDEST MOTHER IN THE WORLD GIMME A BREAK)

Good to let out some frustration. I might just delete that line tomorrow.

Anyways, back to steamboat yet again, Amanda made the base for the soup which was fantabulous. The tom yam soup she made comprised of several types of tom yam pastes which made the soup really authentic, just not spicy enough. She even brought lemon for us to squeeze to get the tom yam soup sour. Seriously, the little squirts of lemon juice make a big difference in the taste of tom yam.

Lisha bought loads of fish cakes/ fish tofus, beef balls, beef slices, dumplings, sausages and all sorts of other stuff to dunk into the hotpot. It was really fun just having 4 of us girls sitting around the table yacking away while gobbling down hot food in winter. I enjoyed the beef slices
most and we went "shabu shabu" while dipping the beef into the soup haha. Man I think I will head to Little Lamb at Russell Street one more time before I fly back to Malaysia in less than two weeks.

Hotpot pictures !Before.

After. YUMMM!

Poor Odie, having to watch us 4 fatties eat and cook for more than two hours hahah.

Hahah Manda and the lovely beef slices.

Aftermath.

When we were finally done with the food, we played mah jong. Aunties, much. But it was good fun though I felt a little guilty for not studying at all the whole Saturday but it was just good to get away from the books for a while. I hadn't played mah jong in ages, more specific, since highschool. Sarah and I were the amatures that night at the table but I kinda picked up the game and won a couple of rounds towards the end of the night although Lisha and Amanda were the pros knowing all the rules for the game.

I brought grapes from some market in Carnegie too which were so cheap. AUD1 for the packet and the girls were delighted to hear about the grapes I had in the fridge heh heh.

We called it the night at what, 3am? hahah seriously aunties playing mah jong late into the night.

Check out the paper with the chinese writings. They were written by Manda for me to refer to while playing mah jong hahah sucks to be a banana sometimes. I kinda made the pace of the game slower as I had to refer to the paper when I got those tiles with such writings.

Night view of Docklands (?) from Sarah's.

Grapes !

Odie all tired = adorable.

Attended Jo's church the next morning. Been attending quite frequent now although I do not show any interest in mixing with the congregation or community there which is not really a good thing but at the moment, I just don't see myself mixing with the community there but really I attend the service for some time with God and the praise and worship sessions. People tell me I need a Christian community to mix with but I don't know, I like hanging out with my non-Christian friends here in Melbourne. I realised this since I arrived in Melbourne, and also since my studies away from home in KL, that my Christian community back in Ipoh was a really secured one; easy to mix with and stuff but away from Ipoh, it's quite different. In fact, its really different. Hmm. Talk about this some other time.

I am also done with my third paper today :D

Last paper would be next Friday, the day before I fly home to Malaysia...

Oh how I wait for that day but in the mean time, I am taking every opportunity to enjoy as much Australian dairy products as possible. Like today, I finished my Blue Ribbon Vanilla buttercream ice cream tub and also ate Cadbury Triple Chocolate ice cream which am now left with maybe 5 scoops in the tub? This calls for some ice cream restocking.

Or maybe ice-cream control?

Exam times

2 papers down in 2 days.

How much better can one's exam timetable get.

Well at least I don't have two papers in one day like how Kelly does. Or 3 papers in a row like Suat Neo but she's from RMIT so that's a different case.

So once again, its that time of the year where stress gets on to tertiary level students and the library is more packed than the cinema (HAHA what a gay analogue) but seriously it is the time of the year where one has to force him or herself to wake up by 9.30am to be able to get a table and seat at the quiet section of the library as tables are all taken by 10am.

The university library has been my second home over the week due to the fact my gay house's heater was not functioning and it was too cold for me to get any information into my frozen brain hence the usage of the university's library. Also, its a rather condusive place for studying compared to in my room where all sorts of distractions are lying around, from the applications Facebook and MSN on my notebook which is on 24/7 on the very same desk I do work to the cosy bed with a doona so thick it'll makes you feel all warm and snuggly under. Another reason was to relive old times with MUFY mate Brandon, where we used to geek-out and hate each other for studying harder than one another back in the Sunway days. It was the Monash Condominium's study room which served the venue of condusive studying back in KL where many memories were created and are still cherished.

Anyway back to the present, random shots specially just for memories on "Exam times".

(GREAT, Fall Out Boy's Thanks for the Memories is currently playing in my head atm because of the line just for the memories used above -___-)

On this day, I had to use my bags to block the vents in the barriers between the tables as the girl sitting opposite me was coughing and sneezing, I soo could not afford to fall sick, what more catch a flu with the swine flu happening,

and

I'M EFFIN HEADING HOME TO IPOH IN TWO WEEKS SUCKERSSSSSSSS

Haha. Okay, not very appropriate but I just felt like saying that.

One day before my first paper on Thursday.

Brandon, my lil gay friend since MUFY times, once a study mate, always a study mate haha random

Stress-relievers i.e. Lindt chocolate slices which melt in your mouth and random drawings/scribblings

Checked out the examination venue the other day. Like I said, I am having my papers in a racecourse ! Very interesting experience.

Other updates would be how the weather in Melbourne is getting to me. I think I did some ranting in the previous post already but thank God that my house's central heating system is now fixed and I don't have to freeze my ass off anymore. It was really cold the other night until I even had to wear my snowcap to bed. And it is soo hard to wake up in the cold, which made me lose a considerable amount of time of preparing for my paper on the day itself. Sigh.

That's just double of the temperature in my room the other night. Let me do the math for you; it was under 8 degrees the other night when the heater wasn't working. Ingenious me used the hairdryer to keep myself warm and heat up my bed but I ended up over-heating my hair dryer and it didn't work for the night but it's working all fine now haha.

Lastly,

I bought the most awesome skirt ever !

Thanks for the pic Sam.
(And yuck combo, the stripes shirt was what I had on already when trying on the skirt so screw it!)

Which costed a bomb for just a skirt. But well yeah, I am such a sucker for such things and I needed to destress so yeah. And I like how knee-length socks makes you look all Jap school-girlish. Okay not for me but these socks really keep your legs warm. But they kinda make my thighs look fat too *Bimbo talk* but wait, they are fat -__-

****

It's Friday night and my next paper is on Tuesday. Really don't have the mood for any work at all at the moment. Will probably start geeking out hardcore again tomorrow or maybe Sunday onwards.

Steamboat/Hotpot tomorrow with the girls at Sarah's. Yes? No?

Well, all the best to the rest of you having to sit for exams. A word of encouragement although I find it rather gay sometimes; think of exams as trials that push you further to realise your limits.

WTF.

Be United, Joyful and in Prayer

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Random post with food

I wanted to upload a picture of my homemade tom yam dish which pretty much looks exactly like the one you can get at Secret Recipe but didn't manage to locate the file so maybe next time. I realised how easy it is to make that stuff, you just need the right ingredients.

On the other hand, I found some other food pictures.

Wonderful breakfast at Nadia's the other week. Some random corn nutri-wheat cereal with milk and peach and a strawberry. I like how Nadia and Ching Mun have their cereal with peaches !

Chillin at Sarah's after a fun night the other week.

She got a new cage for her rabbits, so much more bigger ! Nice.

Lunch at some Singaporean restaurant in the city. Pan mee ! $9.90?!

OMG You can even get this stuff here ! I'm not sure how you spell em but its called something like Chew Gueh ? The one in Melbourne is nothing compared to the ones in Singapore. The preserved vegetables are much tastier and yummy in Singapore.

Heheh Ms Kiasu.

Krispy Kreme in a bag <3

****

Walking home after dinner with William just now was one of the coldest walks ever, since the 4months I've been in Melbourne. I reckon the temperature was definitely below 8 degrees celcious and with the light drizzle and blastful wind, it was pretty much horrendous weather to walk in, not to mention a 1km walk. Thank God William was there if not I'd be.. I don't know -__- but it did feel like we were climbing Mount Everest or something due to the strong icy wind slapping against our faces. The scarf aunty Phaik Choo got me came in handy :)

Back to nerding out.

Oh, and will be checking out my exam location tomorrow at the racecourse.

Yes, I am sitting for my exams at a racecourse.

Ciara's Visit

Oh yea I totally forgot to write about my highschool mate and also ex-tablemate, CIARA O'HARA coming up to Melbourne for two weeks for a vacation and we met up and stuff.

I found it really cool to actually have her at my place, although my room's pathetically tiny but yeah, managed to hold up for her for one night. And the following days, crashed at Nadia's place which was good fun too.

That all happened last week. I felt like I was on vacation too just hanging out with exhigh school mates and fellow Ipohians.

What I did for lil Miss Ciara included bringing her to Pancake Parlour for their awesome fluffy pancakes which you can't get in Malaysia (heheh) and have her try the Krispy Kreme here although there's already an outlet in KL but I bet Australia's Krispy Kreme is better ! But Ciara found it too sweet anyway -___- I HEART KRISPY KREME !

Staying over at Nadia's was great fun. From Guitar Heroes to downing Screwdrivers while playing funny games to eating fantastic food. And I have to say this here, Nadia cooks such authentic and good homecooked meals I'm not kidding; the meal she cooked for us for so good that I totaly stuffed myself till I bloated and even had indigestion later that night -__-

Nevertheless, it was great fellowship with them cos all this while in Melbourne, I had never bumped into Nadia nor Ching Mun although we live in the same area and go to the same university. Malaysian style : "tak ada jodoh" haha.

The very few pictures I have on Ciara's visit.

heheh secret shot

My house was really well heated(in fact sometimes too well-heated) and Ciara even pushed away the doona and folded up her trekkies hahah

Woohoo I made her my very famous homemade toasted ham sandwhich hahaha

Yea yea pancake parlour's entrance yet again. And YEAH that's JO on the far left, Ching Mun, Ciara and I. MGS girls yo.

Retard !! Ching Mun gave me the paper hat to wear -__-

Woooooooooooo!

Aww I had such a good time with you Ciara. Sorry I didn't get to send you off on your last day but I hope you had fun and enjoyed your stay :)

Now another little update, I've been geeking out at the library abit and actually spending money on food cooked at restaurants cos I need to keep healthy and yeah, can't afford to fall sick or anything like that in this period.

So to all of you, eat healthy ! haha

EDIT: I just had oatbanana&milk with Vanilla ice cream this time !

I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO EAT ICE CREAM NOT STRAIGHT OUT OF THE TUB. I already finished half of a 1.25litre tub when I bought the ice cream 2nights ago -__-

Go Blue Ribbon buttermilk and creamy Vanilla ice-cream !
