Mothers' Day Run 2009

So yeah, I mentioned how I dragged myself outta bed on a Sunday morning to arrive at Alexandra Gardens outside Flinders Station to participate in the Mothers Day Classic 2009. I had already registered with TEAM Monash and paid the fees of 20bucks two weeks ago or so but the night before the event I felt lazy and all but meh, yea I got off my lazy ass.

Taking the train that morning was quite different from other days as it was so packed ! Sardine packed. And when I got to the station there were kids and moms having their number tags pinned on their shirts already how cute.

I thought the event was nice. The weather was excellent being a lil cool but still nice and the location, Alexandra Gardens, where some war memorials were built, was a lovely place. Like having the trees and all that above you and the blue sky. Seriously, reminded me of Disneyland especially when there were crowds all moving in one direction haha.

Met some new people too. And wow I've been meeting a few people from Mauritius and they look Chinese. Like Vanessa, yea she's from Mauritius and I was like hmm isn't that in South Africa or something and she went yea I'm not black lol.

Pretty blue sky.

Beautiful trees. Kinda reminded me of some park in Sydney Norman brought me to, to see Opera House from some other angle. And I don't know but I did feel like I was in Central Park haha.

hahaha Nessa and Mr. Moonface. Oh, that guy on the mask is supposed to be some Australian host. I had no idea who he was till the two Australian born kids told me.

I like how you can see some tall buildings portraying the city look from the gardens. Quite New York-ish.

Okay check this out, first you see a sign saying "TOILETS". And moving on to the next picture...

You get "MORE TOILETS" if "TOILETS" ain't enough for you hahahah. Hilarious.

Overall, it was quite an experience being part of the event. There were just soooo many people and some of the walkers and runners had tribute cards pinned on their backs dedicated to their mom and all that. And there were kids doing the walk with moms, I thought it was really a nice way to spend Mother's Day like that. And everyone who participated paid at least AUD20 worth of registration fees which goes to Breast Cancer R&D funds so yeah that's a good cause.

Wished my mom and included in the sms I sent her that I dedicate my 8km's worth of perspiration to her haha.
